On Money

It is a palatial house, close to the marketplace, hospital , main street in town , and other important places; yet, like in some story , it is conveniently secluded from unwanted din. One can have a sweeping view of the rolling hills and the majestic Kanchenjunga from here. The beautiful, serene botanical garden is just minutes away. It is a dream home miraculously built without sweat. It belongs to one who made his fortune by winning lotto jackpot. I do not envy this man, God bless him, but every time I pass by his house, I wonder about money...
Some people struggle all their life to barely make ends meet, while some fortunate ones have more than what they need, bequeathed to them by their parents , or lady luck. There are some who don't even have a fistful to be able to afford a square meal a day and have to rummage through what has been cast away by others in garbage bins.
How much money is enough? A friend of mine often says he prays only for what is enough to buy his daily bread and a little he can save for the rainy day.
"What will you do with so much money?" I heard a guru sermonize to his followers on TV the other day.
" People are ready to sell their soul to make money, but if someone places a gun on their heads or if they fall critically ill, they cry, 'Take everything I have, spare me my life.' "
When I first watched The Moment of Truth, I was taken aback by people's willingness to put everything on line for 'almighty dollars'. I'll limit my views to this since I do not wish to judge people I hardly know ... But yes, I must say I'm greatly surprised.
Money could be a great impediment , it could be a gateway to bliss. I guess it depends on whether or not one has the right amount at the right time....
